The Seminary of Our Lady, Saligao-Pilerne, Bardez, Goa, India, is the cradle where young boys aspiring to be priests are nurtured and helped to find their vocation. The foundation stone of this institution was laid in 1937 but due to the intervening circumstances was completed only in 1952. Since then this house has catered to the formation of youngsters some of whom today serve the Church in Goa and in other places as priests while others, equipped with the upbringing received in this Seminary, are successfully engaged in various other occupations. God has promised that He will never leave us without priests. Today the world is in ever greater need of priests who will proclaim the word of God and nourish us with His Sacraments.
This Seminary is an instrument to fulfill that desire of our Heavenly Father. This sprawling magnificent building, which has borne the in clemencies of weather for the last many years, is in constant need of repairs which include replacing the roofing sheets, waterproofing, guttering, repairs of the columns, false ceiling, replacing frames-cum-doors/windows, painting, providing for better facilities in the classrooms so that the students can have a proper environment for living and studying. Needless to say, it is a financial challenge every year. We are sure you too share our concern and will help us generously and with love.
